Background
Majeediyya School is approaching its historic 100-year milestone (1927 – 2027). This centennial marks a century of excellence, heritage, and national contribution. To commemorate this significant occasion, MMDJ invites current students and alumni to participate in the Majeediyya 100 Year Logo Design Competition to create an official logo that represents the school's heritage and values. The winning logo will be used in celebrations throughout the centenary year.
Objective
- Develop a distinctive and timeless centennial logo.
- Reflect the institution's heritage, values, and future vision.
- Create a design suitable for official use across all media and merchandise.
Scope of work
Participants are required to design a centennial logo that:
- Incorporates the years 1927 – 2027.
- Reflects tradition and legacy, academic excellence, national contribution and future aspirations.
- Maintains visual harmony with the existing school identity.
Design requirements
Mandatory elements
- Inclusion of “1927 – 2027”.
- A clear reference to 100 Years / Centennial.
- Must align with the past and existing school logo identity.
Design guidelines
- Simple, memorable and scalable.
- Suitable for print (badges, certificates, banners), digital (social media, websites) and merchandise (uniforms, souvenirs).
- Must work in full colour and monochrome (black & white).
- Avoid overly complex or cluttered compositions.
Technical specifications
- File formats — vector: AI / EPS / SVG (preferred); raster preview: PNG / JPEG (high resolution).
- Minimum resolution: 300 DPI.
- Provide both a colour version and a black & white version.
- Maximum 12 MB per file; up to 5 files per entry.
Who can participate
The competition is open to two participant groups:
- Current students of Majeediyya School.
- Past students (alumni of any year).
Participants may submit individually or as a team.
Submission requirements
Each submission must include:
- Logo design files (primary, vector source, and black & white version).
- Concept description (max 300 words) explaining design inspiration, symbolism and colour choices.
- Participant details — name, contact information, and category (student / alumni).
Evaluation criteria
Submissions will be evaluated on the following weighted criteria:
- Creativity & originality — 25%
- Relevance to centennial theme — 25%
- Visual impact & aesthetics — 20%
- Versatility & usability — 15%
- Alignment with school identity — 15%
Selection process
Final evaluation will be carried out by a Technical Committee / Judging Panel appointed by MMDJ. The decision of the Technical Committee / Judging Panel shall be final and binding.
Originality and rights
Entrants warrant that the work is original and does not infringe any third-party right.
Intellectual property
- The winning design becomes the sole property of MMDJ.
- MMDJ reserves the right to modify or adapt the design if necessary, and to use the logo across all official platforms and materials.
- Participants must ensure the design is original and does not infringe any copyright or trademark.
Timeline
- Submissions open: 19 April 2026
- Submissions close: 20 May 2026
- Winner notified: 31 May 2026
Awards and recognition
- 1st place (winning logo): official adoption as the centennial logo, certificate of recognition, and a cash prize / award (if applicable).
- Runners-up: certificates of recognition.
Disqualification
Entries will be disqualified if they:
- Contain plagiarised content.
- Do not meet the submission requirements.
- Include offensive or inappropriate material.
- Violate the design guidelines.
General conditions
- Multiple submissions are allowed.
- The organisers reserve the right to cancel or modify the competition if necessary.
- The organisers reserve the right not to select a winner if entries do not meet the required standards.
